A charming and unusual late 19th-century American smokestand cabinet with original folk paint and chinoiserie-inspired decoration. This piece features a single drawer with floral stenciling, a lower cupboard door adorned with a peacock among blossoms, and turned wood legs. The interior includes a fitted tin-lined drawer (originally for tobacco) and pipe storage built into the door—clearly designed for a gentleman’s smoking corner.
Its black-painted surface shows authentic wear, with aged craquelure and warm patina throughout, contributing to its rich visual character.
