Elevated, oval butler’s/drinks tray in richly figured mahogany, ringed by a low brass gallery with ball finials and shaped brass side plates, and finished with turned wooden handles. The field is inlaid with an oval stringing and centered by a sterling-silver presentation cartouche.
The cartouche is hallmarked “JR”, crown, lion passant, date letter ‘h’ — consistent with John Round & Son, Sheffield, sterling standard, circa 1900–1901. The underside shows original period screws and brass bun feet with lovely untouched patina.
Condition: Presents beautifully with honest age—light surface marks to silver, scattered rubs and small dings to brass, faint wear and color variation to the board, and expected oxidation on the underside around the brass feet. All sturdy, ready for service.
